Ocean Roar

With ocean views from almost every room, this La Jolla home is something really special. The sound of the ocean sets the scene, rocking you to sleep each night and soothing you throughout your stay. The home was originally built in the 1920s and has been lovingly remodelled – it retains that historic charm but is modern and comfortable, with all that you might need for a beachside stay. We’d be dividing our time between the sweet little patio, which is a lovely suntrap, and the various cosy corners with ocean views. The living room just calls out for evenings spent together playing cards, particularly if the weather turns chilly and you can light the fire. You’ll likely spend a lot of your time on the beach – it takes at most one minute to walk there. Slightly further afield, La Jolla Cove is seven minutes away by car and the thrills of Belmont Park are just eleven minutes away. La Jolla Village is a treasure trove of fine dining and exclusive boutiques, and it’s twelve minutes away by car. When the sun starts to dip in the sky, slip outside to the communal courtyard to take in the breath-taking sunset. Perhaps mix up a cocktail or two for the occasion – you’re on your holiday, after all.
