With mountains on one side and the endless sea immediately on the other, there’s no escaping the beach when you stay at this Malibu home – you're not just near it, you're on it. The interiors are kept pretty neutral to keep things bright and breezy, but the turquoise blue of the ocean adds a vivid pop of colour. Slide open the doors and head out onto the deck for an alfresco breakfast – did we mention it's one of the biggest on the beach? You might even spot dolphins, whales, seals or otters playing off the shore as you sip your morning coffee under the hot LA sun. When you're not soaking up the rays or swaying in the hammock on the beach, practise your surf at County Line Beach – it's one of Malibu's most famous surf spots, and you can be there in just two minutes. Or, head into LA for a day of exploring – Downtown is just an hour away along the Pacific Coast Highway.
